11 vehicles ransacked in Rockville neighborhood

A theft spree in a residential neighborhood in Rockville resulted in at least 11 vehicles being ransacked - and in some cases, damaged, on December 8, 2025. Between 2:41 AM and 3:14 AM that morning, Rockville City police say, two male suspects entered unlocked vehicles and broke into others in the College Gardens community. If the door didn't open, they smashed windows to gain access to the car, and stole property from the interiors.

Police have no suspect descriptions at this time. They do say the two suspects were riding in a "blue sedan" of unspecified make and model year. If you have any information that could assist detectives in closing this case, call police at 240-314-8900.

  1. You would think that the "seat of power" would have a plethora of surveillance cameras.

  2. The same (formally) nice neighborhood where a man raking leaves was accosted in broad daylight by two men with guns.

    1. 1) I think you mean "formerly"
      2) The neighborhood is still great, a true community and a fantastic place to raise a family. And I don't even live there.

  3. Next to College Gardens elementary school, there are town houses there. I think they are called "the Villas". I think they may be low income housing. It is full of "delinquents" hanging around and walking toward and from Hungerford Drive. They're are some hard core looking men and women living around there. It really messes up the College Gardens single family home neighborhood near by. Fun fact: Sam Brinton of Joe Biden's administration fame lives in one of the nicer town houses near the bottom of the hill. He has been spotted at Carmen's Ice Cream in Woodley Gardens. Watch your bags when he is near by.

    1. I live in college gardens and that low income area has always been a blight on the neighborhood. My kids went to college gardens ES and that group of houses really brings down the test scores. However, the car break-ins perps are probably from somewhere else. East rockville and woodley gardens has also had its trouble with car break-ins.

    2. Sorry. I meant west end, not east rockville. East rockville is a disaster. The perps might be from there.

    3. Scarborough Square is the income limited townhome development across College Parkway. It is run by the Rockville public housing authority. The Villas don't have the same bad reputation.
