Construction on the second Sheetz convenience store and mega gas station in the MD 355 corridor is advancing quickly at the Walnut Hill Shopping Center at 733 S. Frederick Avenue. The familiar building design and roofline are now visible. There's an interesting Sheetz Site Safety sign I have included a picture of below. It looks like the store could be open by summer at this point.
Sheetz is fortunate not to be across the street from Gaithersburg High School like Wawa.

Seems like a LOT of gas stations popping up on Gaithersburg's main street. These should be mixed use apartments over retail with wide sidewalks like whats happening all over Rockville Pike....Gaithersburg has really gone downhill from being on the forefront of urban planning with communites like Rio and Kentlands..now we are celebrating Sheetz and RoFo!
