Regal Cinemas Rockville Center cineplex at 199 E. Montgomery Avenue is temporarily closed for renovations. The theater is scheduled to reopen on August 22, 2026. Some users of the Regal app have reported that the closure is not being shown on it. The good news is that renovations mean that the theater won't be permanently closing anytime soon.
Does anyone know how long this theater has been open? I think I saw a movie there in early 1990s. Has it been open that long?
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly certain that The Regal was built upon the remains of the previous Rockville Mall Theaters I&II. If so, then the theater structure itself dates back to 1972.
