Starbucks announced a new round of downsizing nationwide, and the closure list includes six stores in Maryland. Montgomery County stores at Pike & Rose in Rockville, and 12255 Prosperity Drive in the White Oak area of Silver Spring are among those getting the axe. That's particularly devastating for residents of the buildings at Pike & Rose, as having an on-site Starbucks was among the amenities of living there. Also shuttering will be Starbucks stores in Chester, Easton, Frederick, and Pocomoke City.
No big loss, but a boon for Sunday Morning perhaps. Otherwise get your fix conveniently at the Starbucks in the Montrose Crossing.
ReplyDeleteIt's no surprise this location is among those closing. The Pike & Rose Starbucks was often empty and subpar when compared to other locations. There is literally a much better coffee shop right across the street (Sunday Morning Bakehouse).
ReplyDeleteThis is smart of Starbucks. Starbucks thrives off of drive thrus and pick up, and at pike an rose you have to park in the garages and walk a bit. The one in park Potomac and Rockville town center are always popping. Sunday morning is better for a sit down coffee
