Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda on May 5, 2025. The assault was reported at the mall at 2:55 PM Monday. This the fourth assault to take place at the mall this year. There were 11 assaults reported at the popular retail center in 2024, 5 in 2023, and 12 in 2022.

ReplyDeleteEliminate the food-court. This will eliminate 90% of the feral youth and shoplifters. Then the educated money class might return.
ReplyDelete11:34: It's hard to imagine a mall without a food court. Hiring more security guards would probably be a better investment for Westfield's bottom line than losing all the revenue from food court tenants.

ReplyDeleteMalls must finally decide if they are dining destinations or shopping destinations. They obviously can't be both. And the continual turnover of small oddball eateries tells me the revenue is not as large as imagines. They have become gathering places for troublemakers.
