RNC demands Maryland "clean up voter rolls"

Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley

The Republican National Committee has sent a letter to the Maryland State Board of Elections demanding it "clean up voter rolls." RNC Chair Michael Whatley said the notice letter informs the SBE that it is "violating federal law" in failing to do so previously. It's unclear what will happen if the SBE ignores the letter. A previous attempt by the conservative organization Judicial Watch to purge the names of dead or out-of-state voters from the Maryland rolls was unsuccessful. Judicial Watch's analysis at the time found there were more names registered to vote than actual voters in Maryland.

"Maryland is failing to maintain accurate and up-to-date voter rolls, in clear violation of federal law," Whatley said in a statement. "Citizens deserve to know their vote isn't being canceled out by duplicate or ineligible voters."

No Republican has won any office in Montgomery County since Maryland switched from punch card voting to electronic voting in 2006. Only four years earlier, County Republicans held at least two seats on the Montgomery County Council, several seats in the state legislature, and at least one Congressional seat.

  1. Have you ever thought they’re not winning because they’re not for the people?

  2. Make our county great again. No more socialists like Elrich who are ruining the quality of life.

  3. Hard to believe the presidential administration doesn’t have MoCo on its radar. They know the state is probably not winnable but they can bankrupt a place like this without too much difficulty via legal challenges and the recent SCOTUS decision against MCPS has rattled the County. Remember, you and all us taxpayers paid for “remote learning” for 1.75 years while the schools sat empty due to COVID lockdown (fear mongering/virtue signaling) from Elrich, Gayles and other petrified, clueless “scientists” . WaPo ran an article this week about the Amish and their amazing immunity from allergies, etc. You know why? Because they work and are out in the world..

  4. you sure are right. those amish in indiana don't suffer from montgomery county's morbid economy. that's surely why the amish don't have allergies. we should go along with the trumpies and amish and abolish cars and only use horses, as the amish do. then and only then would we be virtually allergy free, like the amish of indiana are. and while we're at it, let's do away with the rest of the modern world and go back to the vaccine-free life of rfk jr, so we can all die of the plague and tb and measles, but at least we won't get allergies from the moribund moco council.
