Land's End has permanently closed at 1667 Rockville Pike at Congressional Plaza in Rockville. The store was open for about six years, and has now been cleared out. Alas, much like Sears and Kmart, Land's End has fallen into the clutches of supervillain "Fast" Eddie Lampert. Imagine Lex Luthor with no charisma. His cashout habits are likely behind the demise of this physical store, as Land's End is known for high-quality merchandise.

A friend gave me a Landsend jacket years ago, it was probably the best jacket I ever had.I like L L also, that's Mr Bean to you.
ReplyDeleteQuit it with the silly and childish hyperbole, Lands End ran ashore of its own bad business practices. It was a winner while relying on the catalog approach, even with the overkill of three issues per quarter, but when they switched to brick and mortar, upping the prices on most goods, their audience waned. Couple that with a change in buyer preferences, which they failed to adjust to, resulted in game over for them.
ReplyDeleteSay all that to Mr Beans face and see what happens.
