3 new Dunkin' Donuts locations to open in Rockville

Rockville is getting three more Dunkin' Donuts stores. The first will be at 4011-C Norbeck Road, in the former Sassy Cleaners space. The second will be at 2401 Wootton Parkway in Rockshire. And the third will open at 17700 Muncaster Road in Derwood. All three will be operated by franchisee Luis Group Management, which is based right here in Montgomery County.

Free donuts at Dunkin' Donuts in Rockville this Friday, June 7

National Donut Day is this Friday, June 7, 2024. That means free donuts at your local Dunkin' Donuts in Rockville or White Flint. Get a free donut with the purchase of any beverage, including the limited-time drinks of summer 2024 like the Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee or the Vanilla Frosted Donut Iced Coffee Signature Latte. 

Dunkin' Donuts has also teamed up with Scrub Daddy to create two Dunkin' Donuts-themed sponges. The Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy sponges come as a set for $9.98 plus shipping. They can be ordered online.

Rockville Dunkin' Donuts May 11 grand opening is a chance to win free coffee for a year

The grand opening of the newest Dunkin' Donuts in Rockville this Saturday, May 11, 2024, will give you a chance to win free coffee for a year. Just be one of the first 100 guests in line starting at 9:00 AM at the Dunkin' Donuts store at 9761 Traville Gateway Drive, and you'll receive a coupon book containing 4 free medium hot or iced coffee coupons per month for 14 months good only at this location. A ribbon-cutting will be held at 10:00 AM. 

This is Luis Group Management's 26th Dunkin' Donuts store in Maryland. Following the ribbon-cutting Saturday, the Luis Group will present a check that will award Driven to Cure with a $3,000 grant to help raise awareness and provide funding for research of rare kidney cancers in children and young adults. Between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, guests will also enjoy free giveaways from the Dunkin’ Prize Wheel, an appearance from the Dunkin’ mascot Cuppy, and face painting.  

The Traville Gateway store features the new upgrades Luis Group has implemented at many of its existing and new locations in recent years, including a more energy efficient and environmentally-sensitive design and materials, the Premium Pours tap system that provides consistent quality for 8 of the chain's most popular cold beverages, and touchscreen ordering and dedicated mobile order pickup area to get you in and out of the store with your takeout order faster than ever before.

This new Rockville location will be open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. At 2,000-square-feet in size, it employs about 20 team members. Free Wi-Fi is available for customers, and best of all, there is a drive-thru!

Dunkin' Donuts reopens at Wintergreen Plaza in Rockville

Dunkin' Donuts has reopened at 865 Rockville Pike at Wintergreen Plaza. The store just completed a major remodeling of its interior. A new Rockville-specific branding sign has been installed on the far right wall inside. The store is open from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM seven days a week. Time to make the donuts!

The Dunkin' Donuts store at 865 Rockville Pike at Wintergreen Plaza is temporarily closed. An extensive renovation project is now underway inside the space. A reopening date has not been announced yet. Customers are being directed to the Dunkin' Donuts locations nearby at 11530 Rockville Pike, and 2006 Veirs Mill Road. However, I'm going to add the store at 15180 Frederick Road at College Plaza to that list, which seems like it might be closer to Wintergreen Plaza than White Flint.

Rockville Dunkin'/Baskin Robbins hosts grand opening Thursday w/ 99¢ ice cream scoops, giveaways

The new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins store at 16268 Frederick Road, on the border of Rockville and Gaithersburg, will hold its grand opening tomorrow, Thursday, August 4, 2022, starting at 9:00 AM. If you are one of the first 100 customers, you will win free coffee for a year.

All day on Thursday, guests will be invited to take advantage of a 99-cent Single Scoop Ice Cream offer. From 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, guests can win prizes from the Dunkin’ Prize Wheel, and enjoy on-site music and an appearance by Dunkin’ mascot Cuppy. At 10:00 AM, franchisee Frank Hennessey will host the store’s official ribbon cutting ceremony. Afterward, Hennessey, in partnership with the Joy in Childhood Foundation will present a $1,000 grant to Manna Food Center of Gaithersburg.

The new store is an example of the brand's Next Generation design. That includes an updated, modern interior designed to promote a sense of welcoming and positive energy, the Premium Pours tap and Nitro system, and a special area just for pick-up orders. Best of all, the new location includes a drive-thru!

Update on new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins in Rockville (Photos)

The drive-thru menu board has been installed at the future Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins at 16268 Frederick Road in Rockville. It is located on the Shady Grove Road side of the property. The existing Dunkin' Donuts at 16220 Frederick Road will relocate over here when it is completed. We now can see which Baskin Robbins items can be ordered at the drive-thru, a rare amenity for an ice cream shop.

Signs and banners are up at the new Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins with drive-thru at 16268 Frederick Road in Rockville. However, as I predicted, the store is oriented toward Shady Grove Road more than MD 355. The existing Dunkin' Donuts at 16220 Frederick Road will move into this one. Parking spaces are painted, and the ordering canopy is in place, but they still have to install the drive-thru menu board and speaker.

A vacant drive-thru bank branch at 16268 Frederick Road in Rockville is rapidly becoming a new Dunkin' Donuts store. As you can see in these photos, the drive-thru's canopy and parts of the bank building itself are now sporting Dunkin' colors. The current Dunkin' Donuts shop at 16220 Frederick will relocate into this building when the conversion is complete. Almost "time to make the donuts" at this new store, on the border of Rockville and Gaithersburg.

New Rockville Dunkin' offering Tap System Tuesdays through March 9

Rockville's newest Dunkin', which opened recently at 14801 Southlawn Drive, is offering a special Tap System Tuesdays promotion every Tuesday through March 9, 2021. For $2, guests can order a Small Cold Brew or Nitro Cold Brew served from the restaurant’s Premium Pours tap system.

You may notice from the photos that the design of this Dunkin building is unique compared to other locations. The differences are more than cosmetic. This location is 25% more energy efficient than the standard Dunkin' store design. It has digital ordering kiosks inside the store, and the fastest-ever Dunkin' drive-thru experience using the Dunkin' app.

First Montgomery County coronavirus death reported; Best Buy closes all stores, offers curbside pickup

Montgomery County has led the state of Maryland in coronavirus cases. Late Saturday night, the first death from coronavirus in Montgomery County sadly was confirmed by Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan. According to the Maryland Department of Health, the deceased patient was a woman in her 40s, who had underlying medical conditions that complicated her battle against the covid-19 virus.

Also yesterday, Best Buy announced that it would be closing all of its stores, effective immediately. Their stores will continue to sell products, but sales will be via curbside pickup at your nearest store.

Your local Dunkin' Donuts stores in Montgomery County are still open for carry-out and drive-thru sales. You can also use their app (scan the QR code in the image above to get the app) for touchless ordering.

Hot Pot Legend at 595 Hungerford Drive also announced yesterday that it was closing temporarily. They had been offering curbside pickup and delivery, but said they were ceasing all operations to protect their employees and families. Hot Pot Legend plans to reopen once the crisis has passed.

Rockville Dunkin' Donuts closes

One of the Dunkin' Donuts in Rockville has closed. The Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins store at 777 Hungerford Drive has been permanently shuttered. This is the one by Flagship Car Wash.

Fortunately, there is a nice newer Dunkin' Donuts a short distance up Route 355 at College Plaza, and it even has a drive-thru. Dunkin' Donuts has been massively expanding in our area - and across central and southern Maryland - in recent years, making store openings much more common than closures.

Dunkin' Donuts Community Celebration this Saturday in Rockville

The local Dunkin' Donuts franchisee is hosting a community celebration this Saturday, June 10, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Dunkin' Donuts at 15180 Frederick Road, in the College Plaza shopping center. There will be games, a raffle, facepainting and a moonbounce.

Dunkin' Donuts to celebrate grand opening this Saturday in Rockville

After a delay of a few days, the new Dunkin' Donuts at 1800 Rockville Pike opened its doors on Tuesday. Their rescheduled grand opening celebration will be this Saturday, October 8, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

As planned before, you will still be able to get a free small hot or iced coffee this week through Saturday, October 8. In addition, during the grand opening celebration this Saturday, there will be prizes and samples, and a balloonist and magician. WASH FM will be broadcasting from the store between 10:00 AM and noon during the event.

The new location is in the Galvan development near the Twinbrook Metro station. Street and garage parking are available on-site.

Dunkin' Donuts opening this Saturday at The Galvan in Rockville

Dunkin' Donuts will open its newest Rockville location this Saturday, October 1, in The Galvan at Twinbrook, located at 1800 Rockville Pike. During the first day, there will be music, a prize wheel, and a magician/balloonist on hand between 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. To celebrate the opening, the store will be offering a FREE small hot or iced coffee from October 1 to October 8.

The permanent sign is installed at the future Dunkin' Donuts in the Galvan development near the Twinbrook Metro station in Rockville. A "D" door handle has also been installed outside. There's still a long way to go on the inside. This is one of several Dunkin' Donuts that have either opened, or are planned to open, in Rockville.

Shobha, which aspires to be "the global destination for hair removal," is coming to Galvan at Twinbrook at 1800 Rockville Pike.

Dunkin' Donuts, meanwhile, has installed Coming Soon signage at its Galvan space. The interior build-out is still underway there, as you can tell from the photos below. Smashburger is primed to open at Galvan next Wednesday, as I reported last week.
