Montgomery County police responded to a report of an assault at the Rockville Metro station early Friday morning, March 28, 2025. The assault was reported at the station at 1:27 AM Friday. It reportedly occurred in the parking lot area of the station.
We need to have more Police presence. The lax attitude towards anti-social behavior in the last 15 years especially is hurting Society.
ReplyDeleteChicken Little post of the day.
ReplyDeleteDon’t disparage someone’s true concerns. I also try to be cautious at metro parking lots. A poor man was murdered last year at a parking garage in downtown Silver Spring. I have been followed at the Glenmont stop so, yeah, more police presence would not be amiss.
ReplyDeleteWe waste our county and state budget on so many useless and pointless endeavors when what we ought to be doing is doubling our police force here in MoCo. Crime has gotten way out of hand. Judges need to be sterner with criminals too and give the police the breadth to deal with these criminals more harshly.
ReplyDelete7:00: The County Council spends that money on hiring good lawyers for people who are here illegally and have committed crimes. Meanwhile, an actual citizen without funds gets a public defender. Make it make sense.
DeleteHow about pushing the police we have to be more active? 80% time I see them they’re sitting in their cars looking at their phones… in Rockville Town Center weekend nights, mysteriously at Redgate chillaxing during the day, in the Ritzy Rockville police parking lot..:
ReplyDeleteWhat do you suggest this increase in activity be? The criminal element doesn't overtly advertise that they are in active mode you know. BTW, I find your description of where the police chillax, "in the Ritzy Rockville police parking lot"?, hilarious. It [the parking lot] is barely large enough to turn around in.
DeleteI'm planning to move to Rockville next week. Everyone I met while visiting says it's a nice place to live... though I'll really miss having grocery stores in easy walking distance.
ReplyDeleteSo, is it relatively safe? I did browse police reports, which took time because they are organized by week.
Wishing I had tried harder to find an mpdu in Bethesda.
Anonymous, Rockville is relatively safe but as most urban areas there are people that take advantage of others. Use good judgement and be smart of where and when you travel alone and you will be fine
ReplyDeleteI’ve lived in Rockville 27 years and never had a problem. Some parts of Rockville are safer than others. I used the Metro to commute for about 10 years without issue.
ReplyDeleteNote that this assault happened at 1:30 in the morning. It is safe during the day, but probably a bit risky in the middle of the night.
