Assault at Rockville Metro station


Rockville City police responded to a report of an assault at the Rockville Metro station on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The assault was reported at 12:30 PM Wednesday. This is yet another example of a trend with momentum in Montgomery County: violent crimes being committed during daylight hours.

Man pulls knife when told coffee isn't free in Rockville


There's no such thing as a free lunch, or even a free cup of coffee, in Rockville. A man seeking just that barged into a business in the 800 block of Rockville Pike around 5:00 AM on April 1, 2026, Montgomery County police report. When he was told he would have to pay for the coffee, the man pulled out a knife and threatened the employee. Police located the caffeinated suspect outside the business, which police did not identify, and placed him under arrest.

Late night door knockers assault resident in Rockville


Three suspects knocked on the door of a residence in the 600 block of Blandford Street in Rockville at 2:00 AM on March 26, 2026. When the resident answered the door, the suspects demanded to see an individual, Rockville City police say. After the resident informed them that person did not live there, the suspects physically assaulted the resident. Police have not released any suspect descriptions as of this writing.

Assault on residential street in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of an assault on a residential street in the King Farm area yesterday morning, March 28, 2026. The assault was reported in the 800 block of Elmcroft Boulevard at 11:45 AM Saturday. At least one individual was also accused of obstruction, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct in the same incident. This took place just three days after a teen was stabbed outside of the nearby Safeway store at King Farm Village Center. Yet another example of the troubling new trend of violent crimes being committed during daylight hours in Montgomery County.

Teen stabbed at Safeway in Rockville


A teenage boy was stabbed multiple times outside of the Safeway grocery store at 403 Redland Boulevard in the King Farm Village Center in Rockville last night, March 25, 2026. The shocking crime took place just after 8:30 PM during a peak shopping time. Montgomery County and Rockville City police both responded to the incident, in which the juvenile victim was hospitalized with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. One suspect has been arrested, County police say, but they have not provided a description of the suspect in custody, nor of a second potential suspect they are still looking for. Eyewitnesses have stated there were at least six teens in the gathering outside the store that led to the altercation.

Assault reported in wooded area in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of an assault in a wooded area yesterday afternoon, March 21, 2026. The assault was reported at 1:32 PM Saturday in the 2400 block of McCormick Road. However, the actual incident appears to have taken place a day earlier at 5:00 PM. Glenora Park is directly adjacent to McCormick Road.

Assault at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda on March 19, 2026. The assault was reported at the mall at 5:00 PM Thursday. This is the third assault reported at the mall this year, with the first having taken place on January 10, and the second on January 26. The mall is now on-pace for 12 assaults this year at this rate, the same number that took place at the property in 2025.

Strong-arm robbery in Rockville


Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery in Rockville during the lunch hour yesterday, March 8, 2026. The assault and robbery took place in the 12200 block of Rockville Pike at 12:30 PM Sunday. It was reported along the street there. Another shocking crime committed in broad daylight, as Montgomery County's violent crime wave extends into a sixth year at the hands of our pro-criminal, anti-police County Council. Heckuva job, Brownie!

Assault at residential intersection in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of an assault in the Silver Rock neighborhood on February 25, 2026. The assault was reported at 10:00 PM at the intersection of Woodburn and Gilbert Roads. A motive for the assault is unknown. Police describe the suspect only as a Hispanic male in his 30s, wearing a Carhartt jacket. Assault at apartment complex in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at an apartment complex Thursday afternoon, February 26, 2026. The assault was reported in the parking lot of an apartment property in the 1000 block of Rockville Pike at 4:30 PM Thursday. Woodmont Park apartments are located on that block.

Police called after fight at recreation center in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of a fight at a recreation center in the Twinbrook area of Rockville this past Sunday, February 22, 2026. The fight was reported at 2:50 PM Sunday at the Twinbrook Community Recreational Center at 12920 Twinbrook Parkway. According to police, an argument between two people at a sporting event escalated into the two assaulting each other. However, when officers arrived, the two suspects declined to press charges against each other.

Assault at condo complex in Rockville


Montgomery County police were called to a condominium complex in Rockville early Tuesday afternoon, February 17, 2026, after someone reported having been assaulted there. The 2nd-degree assault was reported in the 15300 block of Diamond Cove Terrace at 1:33 PM Tuesday. It took place in the parking lot of the complex. It is in the Shady Grove area, just south of Downtown Crown.

Assault at bus stop in Rockville


Whoever said it doesn't hurt to take the bus? Rockville City police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at a bus stop in the vicinity of the Rockville Metro station on the afternoon of February 13, 2026. The assault was reported at a bus stop in the 200 block of Rockville Pike at 2:25 PM, making this a broad daylight attack.

Rockville police identify Wootton High School shooter, firearm


Rockville City police have identified the alleged shooter who wounded one person inside of Thomas S. Wootton High School yesterday afternoon. Kahlil White-Villatoro, 16, of Rockville, has been charged as an adult in connection with the shooting. White-Villatoro is charged with attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, and various firearms-related charges, including possession of a dangerous weapon on school property. He is being held at the County jail pending a bond hearing. 

Detectives also identified the firearm they say White-Villatoro used in the shooting. It was a Polymer80 9 mm handgun (see sample image above). Although a suspect is in custody, the investigation is ongoing and remains active. Assault at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda


Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda on January 26, 2026. The assault was reported at the mall at 3:15 PM Monday. This is the second assault reported at the mall this year, with the first having taken place on January 10. The mall is now on-pace for 24 assaults this year at this rate; 12 took place at the property in 2025.

Gang of three robbers assault victim in Rockville


Three would-be robbers ganged up on a lone victim late in the night of January 14, 2026, Rockville City police report. The three demanded unspecified property from the victim in the 2100 block of Veirs Mill Road at 11:18 PM. When the victim refused, they proceeded to assault him and fled. Gun discharged into window of home in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of gunfire in the New Mark Commons community in Rockville on January 5, 2026. Officers found that an unidentified suspect had fired a gun at 11:30 PM. At least one round struck the window of a home in the unit block of Tapiola Court. Police do not have a description of the shooter at this time. Assault at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda


Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda late yesterday afternoon, January 10, 2026. The assault was reported at the mall at 5:58 PM Saturday. This is the first assault of 2026 at the mall. Twelve assaults were reported at the property in 2025, and eleven in 2024.

Strong-arm robbery on residential street in Rockville


Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery on a residential street in Rockville on Wednesday afternoon, January 7, 2026. The robbery and assault were reported in the 5500 block of Burnside Drive at 4:13 PM Wednesday. That is a street that winds through several multi-family housing developments near Rock Creek Park and Norbeck Road.

Home invaders assault two occupants in Rockville


A home invasion turned violent in Rockville on January 4, 2026. According to Rockville City police, two suspects targeted a home in the College Gardens neighborhood at 2:53 AM Sunday morning, in the 500 block of College Parkway. After damaging a door and failing to gain entry to the house, the suspects were successful in forcing their way through a different door. Once inside, they proceeded to assault two occupants of the home.

Police say they were able to identify one of the two alleged invaders, and have charged that individual. They are attempting to learn the identity of the second suspect.
