Arhaus
will soon open a Bethesda location at Westfield Montgomery Mall. Construction of the furniture store is already underway inside their generously-sized showroom space on Level 1, as you can see below. Arhaus was founded in 1986, and specializes in heirloom-quality furnishings made from materials like wicker, aluminum, and teak. The company supports an exhaustive range of causes and organizations, from environmental sustainability to LGBTQ+ advocacy groups. Homesense opening Rockville store (Photos)

Homesense
is opening a store at the Montrose Crossing shopping center on Rockville Pike. The home goods retailer is part of the conglomerate that owns TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and Sierra. Homesense carries furniture, lighting, decor, art, rugs, home office goods, everything you need to entertain, and even a broad line of hardware and home improvement tools and materials. The store takes over the A.C. Moore space near Bob's Discount Furniture at the rear of the property.

A sign has been attached to the storefront, and is already lit, even though the store is not ready to open yet. Montrose Crossing has rapidly become a one-stop shop for new or redecorating homeowners, with Value City Furniture, Bob's Discount Furniture, Home Depot Design Center, Target and now Homesense all on one site. Property owner Federal Realty has also been on a home decor streak at Bethesda Row, but here at Montrose Crossing, the furniture and decor are available at a much wider spectrum of price points. Homesense touts its prices as 20-60% below competitors, achieved by intercepting large order cancellations by other retailers, or buying up inventory from chains who are clearing shelves as seasons change.

Danker Furniture closes in Rockville (Photos)

Danker Furniture
has permanently closed on Rockville Pike. The company says orders are still being processed, even though the physical store has closed. Customers can call 301-881-6010 if they have questions.

A sad goodbye for a longtime fixture of Rockville Pike retail. They used to have a Bethesda location, as well. Is your home a "Danker-designed home?" Relive some nostalgic Danker Furniture memories in this YouTube video shot inside the store in 2008, and with a 1987 Danker TV commercial.

Persiano Furniture Outlet opens on Rockville Pike (Photos)

Persiano Furniture Outlet has just opened at 1598-A Rockville Pike. It is in the former Watercrafters Pools & Spas building, near the new Salvation Army Store and AT&T. I like how they've converted the showroom to look very much like a living room. Persiano is a Montgomery County-based retailer, and has been in business since 2000.
