The Lady Vintner "coming soon" in Rockville

The Lady Vintner
is "coming soon" to Rockville Town Center, according to a banner posted at its future storefront at 42 Maryland Avenue, in the ground floor of the BLVD 44 apartment building. A woman-owned beer-and-wine shop and bar, The Lady Vinter will offer a diverse selection of high-quality wine and beer, an in-house sommelier, and a specially-curated food menu including paninis, flatbreads, charcuterie, fine cheeses, and more.

"We are thrilled to announce the launch of our innovative wine and beer shop, The Lady Vintner," owner Ciara Cedeno said in a statement. "We invite patrons to savor, discover, and unwind in our inclusive space. Join us as we uncork a new chapter in Rockville’s culinary scene."

The 1300-square-foot wine bar will fill the space vacated by Pour Vino N' Hops. A permanent sign has been installed over the storefront, and is already lit up.

  1. I will guess, one and half years before this place goes out of business. Have you noticed that none of the retail space in the newer building next to this one has been filled. Since the "urban renewal program" of the early 60's, Rockville Town Center has been a disaster. Thanks government!

    1. It's literally the only beer/wine option now that Dawson's closed. It's going to print money, unless they completely mis-price themselves.

    2. As opposed to figuratively the only beer/wine option? There is Tiger beer and wine, Dad's beer and wine, Hunderford beer and wine and the county liquor store which sells beer and wine (albeit room temp beer). All within a half mile. All have ample/easy parking which The Lady Vintner does not. Pour Vino N' Hops was not successful. Why would this new one be successful?

    3. It's literally the only beer/wine store in TC. Sorry the word "literally" is confusing to you, grandma.

    4. I have to agree with Grandma. You don't need to use the word literally, You can write "It's the only beer/wine store in TC. There is no figurative meaning that sentence, so you don't to clarify that you are being literal. Also, if I were at the main town center, by the library, I could walk to Tiger beer just as fast as this new place and I guarantee that I would pay a lot less.

  2. World of Beer seems to do well in one of the newer buildings.

I think putting the new senior living building right there has killed the vibe in that area of town center. Who'd lease retail space there?
That crowd isn't going to movies or bars.
