Let me guess, the County Council burned it?
ReplyDeleteHahaha!!
DeleteI'm guessing Jamie Raskin.
DeleteThe Supreme Court has ruled that the First Amendment protects speech involving actions such as burning a flag. The question this doesn't address is why is the police involved here? Did the flag belong to someone other than the person who burned it? That would be destroying property, not protected expression.
ReplyDeleteBill, you are correct. My assumption is that the flag was stolen or torn down, and thus the police became involved.
DeleteWhoever did it should be kicked out of the country. If you burn the flag it means you dont care about the country so leave!
