Rockville City police responded to a report of gunfire in the New Mark Commons community in Rockville on January 5, 2026. Officers found that an unidentified suspect had fired a gun at 11:30 PM. At least one round struck the window of a home in the unit block of Tapiola Court. Police do not have a description of the shooter at this time. If you have any information that could assist detectives in closing this case, call police at 240-314-8900.
Eventually you will need neighborhood foot patrols to keep these neighborhoods safe,like a perimeter and enforcement of it.
