Panera Bread's space at 219 E. Middle Lane in Rockville Town Center is being marketed as available for lease. Prospective tenants and their representatives are warned "Do not disturb" the existing restaurant. Panera Bread remains open for business at this time, but its loss would certainly be a blow to the lunch scene in the Town Center area. A former bank space in the ground floor of the same building, vacant for some time now, also remains available for lease. Panera has two other locations in Rockville, at the Fallsgrove Village Center, and at Federal Plaza on Rockville Pike.

Why Panera marketed as lease
ReplyDelete7:13: Generally, it means the landlord does not anticipate reaching agreement on a new lease with the existing tenant, and is hoping to attract a new occupant as soon as possible.
DeleteMr. Dyer, thanks for the update.
DeleteThis location usually seems very busy. I hope they continue in business....
Before the Rockville Town Center even broke ground, it was predicted to suffer the same fate as the former Rockville Mall. (declining traffic, retailers leaving, vacancies...)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, I currently live in downtown Rockville.
DeleteWhile it's a pretty nice place to live, there isn't even a full service grocery store. Trader Joe's seems to focus on snacks, processed frozen foods, and prepackaged produce. They do have good plain yogurt.
And true, Wegman's is on Metro, if you want to pay an extra $4.50 for each shopping trip. Maybe I'll try instacart.
There are very few restaurants.
I so wish I had moved back to Bethesda.
