Finnegan's Wake adds outdoor patio seating at Rockville Town Square

Finnegan's Wake now has a patio dining area on the sidewalk outside the Irish pub, located at 100 Gibbs Street at Rockville Town Square. The weather is turning good after a rough start to the week, and Rockville recently banned smoking in outdoor dining areas, so this is certainly excellent timing.

The long wait for one of several delayed openings at Rockville Town Square is finally here. Finnegan's Wake, a rare Irish pub in Rockville, will open this afternoon at 4:00 PM on Gibbs Street.

It'sugar opening Friday at Rockville Town Square; Finnegan's Wake Watch continues

New candy store It'sugar will open this Friday, March 18, at Rockville Town Square, according to a store employee. The boutique's staff was unpacking sweets and lining the shelves and displays late Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Irish pub Finnegan's Wake was dark and locked up tight 24 hours before St. Patrick's Day happy hour. A building permit was visible through the front door's window, but the yet-to-open pub was not listed in a St. Patrick's Day email announcement from Rockville Town Square. Stay tuned.

A source has told me Finnegan's Wake could open in less than two weeks, but there is no official confirmation of that yet. The signage and awning are up.

There currently is no contact information, website or Facebook page for the Irish pub. Just the potential that this may actually open in time for St. Patrick's Day. Keep your fingers crossed.

Mellow Mushroom adds Coming Shroom signage at Rockville Town Square (Photos)

After a long wait, construction is going full steam ahead inside the future Mellow Mushroom at Rockville Town Square. The results of the work are still hidden behind a wall, of course. But some new Coming Soon - or as they call it, "Coming Shroom" - signage has been added outside. They're also still hiring, for all of you aspiring pizza chefs in Rockville.

Meanwhile, over at Finnegan's Wake (remember that?) the activity hasn't been quite as frantic, but I can confirm construction is actually underway now. Place your bets as to whether or not they can open before the biggest day on the Irish pub calendar - St. Patrick's Day.
