Rockville speed camera lit on fire

Probably some defund the police idiots
ReplyDeleteThat I believe is a city of Rockville owned and operated camera, since its location is on a city managed, residential street. I could be wrong, but my spidey senses are tingling.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that the City of Rockville contracts out all of the speed and red light cameras. The equipment is not owned by the city. I believe that the contract is such that, for every $40 speeding violation collected, the contractor receives approximately $23. I have to wonder if the camera was set up to capture an image of those who torched it. Whatever the case, if caught, those responsible should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
DeleteMy correction was relating to the authors statement "A Montgomery County speed camera", which referenced the county. Regardless of the ownership, the location of the camera, within the jurisdiction of the city of Rockville, indicates it is either owned/operated by the city of Rockville, plain and simple.
DeleteIt may be within City of Rockville jurisdiction, but the cameras are NOT owned by Rockville. They are owned by the contractor.
