Nick's Chophouse
has been temporarily closed at 700 King Farm Boulevard in Rockville. Now the entire contents of the restaurant will be auctioned off at the end of the month. 1. Expected, but still sad. I've yet to see Gordon Biersch auction equipment. Could it be they intend to reopen?

    1. I'd imagine any GB liquidation is complicated by its Chap 11 proceedings. Dust probably needs to settle on that, but I doubt they're in the position to reopen a new location anytime soon. The space is listed as available by Federal Realty.

    2. Steakhouses in general are totally dead until next year, at least. No one's going to pay $65 for a to-go steak to reheat at home. I'm not surprised to see Nick's, Urban Butcher, George's, etc. close.

  2. All of the brewing equipment was removed many months ago.
