  3. Looks a late Soviet era village now, with ice rink and library. This is what Elrich and the idiots that re elected him like, no progress and another total development failure in less than 15years. Town Square=Town Fail

    1. This poster is someone unfamiliar with local government, and only has an axe to grind regarding MoCo Executive Mark Elrich. Rockville Town Center, FYI, is under complete jurisdiction of the City of Rockville and Federal Realty when it comes to rules, regulation, and development issues. MoCo has absolutely no control over any regulations in this area. If you are unfamiliar about the areas of influence, I suggest you keep your mouth shut.

  4. Social Norm: Totally familiar with Rockville and the fact it’s an independent city. Also aware it’s in the County seat and symbolizes the abysmal failure of the City Council, the County and its leadership writ large and its where they conduct legislative sessions during the work week. Embarrassing, crumbling and vacant businesses abound. It’s a sterling example of the plummeting stock of Moco in the past 20 years. I take no joy in in it, but the political bent of the “leaders” of the County and city Council has delivered to the population the following: “ You get the governance you deserve.”

  5. Bitter angst. Moco's "stock" surely hasn't plummeted in relation to other jurisdictions in this region, or the nation for that matter, as evidenced by the amount of new construction in both commercial and residential areas. You perhaps need a visual check on the condition of our economy as a whole. You are getting the bang for your buck in this market, love it or leave it.

  6. I would love to see the encouraging economic data but this sounds like another fairy tale put forth by desperate folks. Jacob Sesker wrote the most insightful analysis of the County I have ever read, encompassing the 2006 to 2019 time period. It’s characterized by by declining business tax revenues and flight of high income residents, coupled with declining schools. More than10,000 students left MCPS during the pandemic and private schools have multi year waiting lists now, including ones that were about to close. Two state senators expressed shock at the reelection of the CE and both noted the decline of the 25 to 44 year old population in MoCo as a key indicator that things are awry, and it’s not the lack of affordable housing. Keep the liberal fiddle going while the County implodes , Norm.

  8. Why don't you just get it over with and pave the whole County and throw out the inhabitants so that Business can have everything it wants?

  9. Fairfax/Loudoun has lots of relatively cheap, easy to develop land with newer infrastructure next to an international airport Plus large, attractive planned communities and major parcels of vacant land. Investments in road systems are not that evident, as seen in the traffic issues. MoCo - not so much. It's the airport for VA that can't be competed with.
