Potbelly has closed at 544 N. Frederick Avenue at Gaithersburg Square. Signage has been ripped off the storefront, and the interior appears to have been cleared out. The sandwich chain is actually in an expansion mode of significant growth, only closing low performing stores. Once again, the anti-business policies of the Montgomery County Council - and the resulting moribund economy - claim another victim.

Not surprised about this closing, the one time I ate there I was not impressed. The RIO Pot Belly is good.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the Potbelly sandwich a few days ago showed only a few thin slices of meat and a very large amount of lettuce. Perhaps this was the cause of their demise.
ReplyDeleteI guess they got a belly full!
ReplyDeleteForget Potbelly.

Marchone's is great.
DeletePeople.prefer not to pay $14 for an elaborate lettuce sandwich.
