MíaCane Juicery and Açaí Bar opens in Rockville


MíaCane Juicery and Açaí Bar
is now open in Rockville. The shop brings the newest beverage trend of sugarcane juice alongside smoothies, açaí bowls and Vietnamese coffee to 785-I Rockville Pike at the Ritchie Center. It has already earned a perfect 5-star rating from early customers on both Yelp and Google Reviews.

Update on Mia Cane Juicery and Açaí Bar in Rockville


The window coverings have been removed at Mia Cane Juicery and Açaí Bar at 785-I Rockville Pike at the Ritchie Center. Inside, juicing equipment and cash registers are in place around the front counter. There is some seating in the dining area. All that's missing at the moment are the menu boards or screens. Outside, the operating hours have been applied to the glass entrance door, along with an Instagram account that isn't yet functional as of this morning.

Mía Cane Juicery and Açaí Bar opening in Rockville


Mía Cane Juicery and Açaí Ba
r is coming soon to Rockville. It will bring the newest beverage trend of sugarcane juice alongside smoothies, açaí bowls and Vietnamese coffee to 785-I Rockville Pike at the Ritchie Center. This was Japong Bakery's original spot before it moved to 765-A at the center. 


This will be Mía Cane Juicery and Açaí Bar's third U.S. location, and their first in the Washington, D.C. area. Their first two are in New England: Worcester, Massachusetts, and the soon-to-open store in Providence, Rhode Island. Coming-soon signage is now up at the Rockvile location.

Contents of Rockville restaurant to be auctioned off


The contents of Super Bowl Noodle House at 785-G Rockville Pike at the Ritchie Center in Rockville will be auctioned off starting tomorrow, April 26, 2024. Super Bowl Noodle House has permanently closed, and all equipment, furniture and fixtures are being liquidated. Among the items up for bid are a rice cooker, flat screen television, neon "OPEN" sign, various sinks, and multiple refrigerators. Equipment will have to be removed from the premises on Monday, April 29, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, according to the auction listing.

is relocating in Rockville. It is moving from its previous location at 620 Hungerford Drive to the Ritchie Center. The shop's new address is 765-L Rockville Pike. Cutculture has built a loyal following over the last year, with high scores from clients on Yelp (4.5 stars out of 5) and Google (4.8 stars).

Ốc & Crab Seafood Restaurant closes in Rockville


Ốc & Crab Seafood Restaurant
has closed at 765-F Rockville Pike at the Ritchie Center. The Vietnamese restaurant only opened this past April. Another seafood establishment, Live Crawfish & Seafood, moved out of the same space a year ago. It had survived since 2017, and through the worst of the pandemic lockdown. Ốc are snails, the culinary stars of many popular dishes in Vietnam.

Japong Bakery to reopen today in Rockville


The long-delayed return of Japong Bakery is finally here. It will be holding a soft opening today, Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at 765-A Rockville Pike in the Ritchie Center. The bakery has been closed since April 17 to relocate into this new space at the shopping center. However, unforeseen circumstances caused two tentative reopening dates to pass by.

"We are extremely happy and proud to announce that we will be opening our doors again to our amazing customers!" Japong Bakery wrote on its Facebook page. "We are excited to share our new shop with you, so please come to visit us soon!"

Another delay for Japong Bakery reopening in Rockville


You'll have to keep dreaming of a cream puff from Japong Bakery for a little while longer. The popular Rockville bakery announced this morning that it will have to postpone its reopening at the Ritchie Center - which was scheduled for today, June 1 - once again. "We are still waiting on certain items that need to be taken care of behind the scenes here," it said in a statement. "Please stay tuned for an updated reopening date, as we are in a temporary holding pattern. We are very proud of our new store, and cannot wait to share it with customers when we can! Until then, we apologize for the inconvenience."

Japong Bakery grand-reopening delayed in Rockville


Japong Bakery
is relocating in the Ritchie Center to 765-A Rockville Pike. However, the grand reopening that has been scheduled for May 10, 2023 is being postponed. The bakery is now expected to reopen on June 1, due to "unforeseen circumstances." It will be worth the wait for a Japong Bakery cream puff!

Ốc & Crab Seafood Restaurant opens in Rockville


Ốc & Crab Seafood Restaurant
has opened at 765-F Rockville Pike in the Ritchie Center. It is a Vietnamese seafood restaurant, located next to Gama Korean Chicken. Delivery and takeout orders can be placed on their website. Operating hours are 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday to Friday, and 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Japong Bakery moving in Rockville


Japong Bakery
is relocating at the Ritchie Center in Rockville. The Asian bakery known for its specialty cream puffs will be staying at the shopping center, moving from 785-I Rockville Pike to 765-A Rockville Pike. However, the bakery will be temporarily closed from April 17, 2023 to May 9, 2023 while it makes the transition. The grand reopening of the bakery is scheduled for May 10.

at 765-F Rockville Pike at the Ritchie Center is being marketed for sale. The restaurant remains open for business. A liquor license and food inventory is being included in the sale offer. The asking price for the business is $289,000, according to the listing. Live Crawfish & Seafood has been open since 2017 in Rockville.

Stop Work order issued at Ritchie Center in Rockville


The City of Rockville has posted a Stop Work order at the former La Limena space at the Ritchie Center on Rockville Pike. "You can not do any work w/o approved plans/permit," reads a handwritten note by a City code enforcement inspector. A valid demolition permit from the City is posted in the window, issued back in August. "*DEMO DOES not include," the inspector's note adds.

Ding Tea for sale in Rockville


Ding Tea,
a tea shop selling bubble tea, milk tea, macha and more at 785-C Rockville Pike, is being marketed for sale. The shop remains open, but according to the sale listing, the owner is moving out-of-state and would like to sell the business. Asking price is $650,000. The lease for the shop at the Ritchie Center has two years remaining on it, with a 5-year renewal option.


Ding Tea opened in January 2020, but managed to survive the pandemic lockdowns and downturn. Rent for the shop's space is currently $5100 a month, according to the sale listing.

Pupuseria Mamá Emilia opens in Rockville

is now open at 785-H Rockville Pike, in the Ritchie Center. "We are happy to announce to you our favorite customers, we are finally open to the public in our new location," the restaurant posted in a comment right here on Rockville Nights. "Please stop by and come and visit us."

Update on Pupuseria Mama Emilia in Rockville (Photos)


There's been more activity at the future Pupuseria Mama Emilia at 785-H Rockville Pike in the Ritchie Center. More signage has been installed, so we now know what the operating hours will be. They are seeking a cook with experience making pupusas. And we have an image of Mama herself now on the storefront.

is coming soon to Rockville. The Salvadoran restaurant will be opening at 785-H Rockville Pike, in the Ritchie Center, where the sign is already up and lit. This space was previously home to Dokiya Ramen. Pupuseria Mama Emilia is a new venture from the owners of Pupuseria La Familia in Beltsville, which also features the recipes of Mama Emilia.

Dokiya Ramen
has closed at 785-H Rockville Pike. Its space in the Ritchie Center has been cleared out. The restaurant had enjoyed a solid four-star rating on Yelp prior to closing.

CM Chicken opening Rockville location (Photos)


CM Chicken
, short for Choong Man Chicken, is coming to Rockville. The restaurant is putting the finishing construction touches on its future space at the Ritchie Center on Rockville Pike. It's a Korean concept, and some online reviews are calling it even better than Bonchon.


Specialties at CM Chicken include its signature Snow Onion Chicken and Tikkudak chicken. Snow Onion Chicken is fried chicken topped with a copious amount of mayonnaise and raw onions. Tikkudak chicken varieties all benefit from being baked in an oven after frying for extra crunch. Spice levels range from mild to super hot.
