Squishable opens at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda

has opened at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, just in time for late holiday toy shoppers. The store is expected to be here for the holiday season. Squishable sells a wide variety of stuffed toys, including disguised and mystery variations. Look for Squishable on Level 1, next to Bath & Body Works.





Victim robbed on street in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of a robbery Tuesday night, December 6, 2022. The robbery was reported in the 400 block of Blandford Street at 11:05 PM. A weapon other than a firearm was employed by the suspect(s).

Popeyes "temporarily closed" at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda


Readers have been asking what is going on with the Popeyes in the Dining Terrace food court at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. Their stall has been closed during normal operating hours for at least a week. According to the restaurant locator page on the Popeyes website, this location is "temporarily closed," with no reason given for the closure. Last evening, during Popeyes' operating hours, they were closed again. However, nothing had been removed inside their space, and the menu boards were still operating.

Rockville Zenimax quality-assurance employees to consider unionizing


Quality assurance employees at Zenimax in Rockville plan to vote on a proposal to unionize via the Campaign to Organise Digital Employees, from the Communications Workers of America, in the coming weeks. They would join with QA colleagues from Zenimax offices in Hunt Valley and Texas. Parent company Microsoft has stated it will not stand in the way of workers who wish to join a union.  Zenimax owns publisher Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios, as well as id Software, Arkane Studios, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, and ZeniMax Online Studios. Some of its best-known titles include Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, and the forthcoming Starfield.

Assault at Rockville grocery store


Rockville City police were called to a grocery store in the Twinbrook area yesterday afternoon, December 5, 2022, after an individual reported being the victim of a 2nd-degree assault there. The assault was reported at a supermarket in the 1900 block of Veirs Mill Road at 3:20 PM Monday. Lotte Plaza Market is located on that block.
