Robbery, assault at Marshalls in Rockville


Montgomery County police were called to the Marshalls department store at 12051 Rockville Pike at Montrose Crossing at 5:05 PM on May 8, 2024. A male suspect entered the store, assaulted a Marshalls employee, and fled with an undisclosed amount of merchandise. Police describe the suspect only as a Black male of unknown age. Strong-arm robbery at Rockville Metro station


Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery at the Rockville Metro station late Thursday afternoon, May 9, 2024. The robbery was reported at the station at 5:05 PM Thursday. A report that an arrest was made in this case is not yet confirmed as of this writing. Strong-arm robbery at Rockville restaurant


Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery at a restaurant in Rockville early Thursday afternoon, March 28, 2024. The robbery was reported at a restaurant in the 2200 block of Veirs Mill Road at 1:35 PM; police arrived only four minutes later. That's in the area of the Twinbrook Center.

Strong-arm robbery near Rockville Metro station


Rockville City police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery in an industrial area near the Rockville Metro station late Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2024. The robbery was reported in the 100 block of N. Stonestreet Avenue at 5:38 PM. It occurred along the street on a busy block with many repair shops.

Rockville police searching for suspect in bus stop robbery


Rockville City police are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect in the January 26, 2024 strong-arm robbery at a bus stop. At 7:00 PM, the suspect approached a bus rider at a stop in the 700 block of Hungerford Drive (MD 355). "Mumbling incoherently," the suspect allegedly assaulted the bus rider, and took property from him. 

Police describe the suspect as a Black male between 30 and 40 years old, 5'3" in height, with a light complexion. He was wearing all-black clothing at the time of the robbery, and carrying duffel and book bags. Anyone with information about the suspect or this incident is asked to call police at 240-314-8900.

Rockville City police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery in the Twinbrook area Saturday afternoon, November 25, 2023. The assault was reported in the 2100 block of Veirs Mill Road at 3:28 PM Saturday. That is in the commercial area around the Twinbrook Center.

Halloween trick-or-treat home invasion in Rockville


It was definitely a trick when an alleged home invasion robber apparently posed as a trick-or-treater last night in Rockville. The male suspect rang the doorbell at a home on Pebble Ridge Court at 7:51 PM last night. Not content with candy as a treat when the homeowner answered, the 23-year-old suspect then allegedly forced his way into the home. He was overpowered by the homeowner, who hauled him back out the front door, and detained him until police arrived. The suspect, who was not immediately identified by police, was taken into custody.

Rockville police searching for would-be fanny pack snatcher


Rockville City police are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect in the attempted strong-arm robbery of a fanny pack early on the morning of September 27, 2023. A female pedestrian was walking in the 1300 block of E. Gude Drive at 2:23 AM, when a Black male allegedly attempted to grab her fanny pack. The victim managed to hold on to her pouch, and the suspect fled in a silver car.  

Police describe the suspect as a Black male, 5'7" in height with a medium-build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes. If you have any information about this incident or suspect, call Rockville City police at 240-314-8900.

Strong-arm robbery at Rockville grocery store


A Rockville grocery store that has recently made news for the wrong reasons is back in the headlines again. Rockville City police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery at a supermarket in the 600 block of Hungerford Drive Thursday morning, September 28, 2023. The robbery was reported at the store at 10:00 AM Thursday. There is a Giant store on that block of Hungerford Drive, where 3 people have been assaulted since August 11 of this year.

Strong-arm robbery at convenience store in Rockville


Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery at a convenience store in Rockville early Sunday morning, March 26, 2023. The robbery was reported at a store in the 12400 block of Parklawn Drive at 4:04 AM. A suspect is also accused of damaging property at the store during the incident. There is a 7-Eleven at 12400 Parklawn.

Rockville man charged in Cricket Wireless robbery and assault (Video)


Montgomery County police have arrested and charged a suspect in the recent robbery of the Cricket Wireless store, at 2102 Veirs Mill Road in the Twinbrook Center in Rockville. Craig Donnell Johnson of Rockville, age not given, was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with the February 18, 2023 robbery and the assault of an employee. 

Detectives say that Johnson entered the store at 4:15 in the afternoon that day, approached a store employee, and asked to see a specific phone. As the employee retrieved the phone, Johnson allegedly covered his face and followed her to the back of the store. He then allegedly grabbed her in a headlock, and demanded she open the cash register. 

When Johnson noticed that the employee's daughter was coloring in a coloring book in the rear of the store, detectives say he ordered the child into the employee restroom. He allegedly took the keys to the register from the employee, and ordered her into the bathroom with her daughter. When he was unable to open the register with the keys, Johnson allegedly commanded the victim to come out of the bathroom and open it. When she complied, Johnson assaulted her, and ran out of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Johnson has been charged with robbery and 2nd degree assault. His bail status was not disclosed by police. Detectives have released a portion of the surveillance camera video of the robbery and assault.

Rockville 7-Eleven robbed during Sunday's plane crash blackout


A 7-Eleven store in Rockville was robbed Sunday evening, while much of Montgomery County was in the dark due to a mass power outage caused by a plane crashing into a Pepco tower in Gaithersburg. At 8:39 PM, an "older male" suspect smashed a window at the 7-Eleven at 13000 Atlantic Avenue in the Twinbrook area. He grabbed a drawer out of a cash register, and fled on foot as Rockville City police cruisers pulled up outside the store. The suspect was last seen in the residential neighborhood adjacent to the store.

Purse-snatching in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of a purse-snatching in a parking lot yesterday afternoon, October 29, 2022. The robbery was reported in a commercial parking lot in the 800 block of Hungerford Drive (MD 355) at 5:44 PM. According to police radio communications, the purse was taken by force, not stolen while left unobserved.
