Xi'an Gourmet opens in Rockville

Xi'an Gourmet has opened at 316 N. Washington Street in Rockville. Featuring cuisine from the Northwestern region of China, the restaurant takes over the former Fusion Supper Club space.

  2. Why use the Han Chinese name of the region? The proper name of the region, reflecting the Uyghur people, a Turkish tribe, is Uyghurstan, or at least East Turkestan.

  3. They're probably using the Han Chinese name of the region because Xi'an is a Han Chinese region. It has been for millennia. In fact it's arguably the cradle of Han civilization. It's where the terra cotta warriors are found, from the 3rd century BC. You're confusing it with Xinjiang, which is primarily populated by Turkic peoples and could arguably be called East Turkestan. But the border of Xinjiang (Or East Turkestan, if you prefer) is over a thousand miles west of Xi'an. Perhaps look at a map before trolling?

  6. this place is utterly awesome and they have single-handedly destroyed my hopeless diet objectives ~ RUN do not walk to enjoy the most fab chinese experience available in Rockville . . . damn the curse the place is golden!
