Armed carjacking in Rockville
Rockville City police responded to a report of an armed carjacking late Sunday night, August 28, 2022. The carjacking was reported in the 5700 block of Fishers Lane at 11:33 PM Sunday.
Marc Elrich continues to fail the community on public safety and people here are apparently so ok with it that they'll give him another four years to flush MoCo further down the drain. Absolutely incredible.
Exactly. Are people truly this blind? Are we living in the same county as these people that think this man is making MoCo great??? We have serious issues from our public schools to our first responders/police, CRIME to our county being claimed a sanctuary county for illegals to be sent to receive everything free. This is just a few issues listed that we have. These are the issues happening openly in front of our eyes. So sad.
It's the reason I legally conceal carry here and elsewhere. I won't be a victim for these criminals. Since the Bruen case was decided in June, the MD State Police have received more than 39,000 Wear & Carry permit applications. That's three years' worth of applications in two months. Approvals take around 50 days. As more folks begin to legally conceal carry in MD, it's only going to be a matter of time until these criminals attempt this on someone who's carrying. When MoCo leadership fails to provide security for people, people will take security into their own hands. I have and you don't want to try this on me.
Could not agree more with that comment. Police force will be further hollowed out and if you think the criminal thug element doesn’t realize it’s free shopping in Montgomery County; think again!
It's not going to be free shopping anymore. Since the Bruen case was decided in June, the MD State Police have received more than 39,000 Wear & Carry permit applications. That's three years' worth of applications in two months. Approvals take around 50 days. I'm curious to see the total number of approved MD permits in a few months. I'm one of them.
This is exactly what the the people in our county seem to want, hollow out the Police, give law breakers a light slap on the wrist, this is what they are voting for elections have consequences either good or bad, very sad there is no longer a right or wrong up is no longer up down is no longer down, our social fabric is ripped to pieces 😥
Marxist cultural revolution. I always read about it happening in China, but never thought I would see it in America. It's unbelievable. Doesn't bode well for future or America.
Unbelievable that Elrich could be re-elected.He is destroying this county. Very sad. I moved here from P.G. 50 yrs ago to get away from crime. Now it’s catch up.
I am the victim of the armed carjacking that occurred in downtown Bethesda a few months ago. The police officers who arrived on the scene blamed Elrich. He treats cops like criminals and criminals like victims. The police academy enrollment has plummeted thanks to his measures to defund the police. For the first time in my life, I will be voting Republican, for Reardon Sullivan. Oh and I have a gun and plan to get my conceal carry permit too.
I'm so sorry to hear that. That must have been horrifying. Good luck with your Conceal Carry Permit process. MD takes about 50 days from submission to approval. If I may suggest: if you're going to be doing the 16 hour CCW course for MD, a number of MD Courses include DC in the same course or as an add-on. (DC takes about 90 days to issue.) You're already going to be sitting there so if you can get DC too, you'll save time in the future. Also, make sure that you have an insurance policy from USCCA or CCW Safe. It's important. I conceal carry in MoCo and I feel quite safe when I do.
Too bad as residents we don’t spend more time coming together to address the issue rather than mud slinging, which has become a national past time. Montgomery County (Rockville) is still probably a lot safer than most communities around DC. Look at the big picture and the data to see how big or small the problem really is. Media doesn’t do it. Ask why. Sad that we have residents that feel holding public servants accountable for their behavior is “anti.” If their unions and their hired supervisors did it then it wouldn’t be a community issue. We need to take it more seriously who we hire as well as remind residents of proper behavior when dealing with law enforcement. Mental health related situations have to be handle even more carefully. Corporate media (5 companies) that own 95% of media outlets in the US makes it a national issue constantly by focusing on the 5% of crime issues for example and not the 95% of situations around US, where there is peace, law and order respected, and citizens working together to address community issues. Ask yourself why less of news like that is shared.
Terrible. Montgomery County is turning in PG County

DeletePerhaps this November there will be something done about this and many other places across our great nation.
DeleteRich people with security voted him in

DeleteWill those who were unable to nix Elrich be smart or descent enough to cross party lines come November?
