  1. Who goes to Montgomery Mall at 830 at night? They should close at 600P every day. Problem solved.

    1. The restaurants and movie theater wouldn't survive closing at 6pm.

    2. This is a terrible take. Seriously. Close stores when most people are done with work and have time to go shopping?

I'm sure you're also a "small government" Republican that only wants to regulate business when it fits your agenda.

    3. No place safe anymore in Montgomery County. Montgomery Mall used to be a great place for families to shop, eat, go to the movies, have fun, etc. Never had to worry about your safety.

    4. Just wait until next year. Did you know that over 600 Montgomery Co. police officers in the Bethesda district are eligible for retirement and can simply walk off the job? What does MoCo govt do? Cut more from the police budgets. The woke policies of the MoCo govt is having a disastrous effect on the safety…this is just another glaring results of their failed policies

    5. There are only 1,300 sworn officers on the entire MCP force, and you're telling me nearly half are in one single district. Try blowing that smoke up someone else's ass. Yet another non-factual posting.

    8. What a stupid nonsensical comment about Dems destroying our county and country. This is not political, this is about respect, and republicans are not deserving respect for being so illinformed, fundamentally ignorant of the facts,

    9. The Defund the Police movement was very political and led to this crime increase. MoCo reduced the police budget and restructured it. SROs are now watered down in our schools and do not have the same effect at preventing crime. Sanctuary policies from our county have set a welcome mat for border crossers, which include human traffickers, drug dealers and gang members. Do your homework and vote for candidates who support our police.

  5. What’s frustrating is the Criminal probably has a history of crimes and freedom has replaced punishment. Now victims of crime are victimized again by the judicial system. So scary.

  6. Go to the mall mid day since you now work at home. 🤪

  7. What we need is better gun control and more police officers guarding these places so people can have freedom to do their shopping after work hours! People are still working until 6:00pm at some jobs !!!!!

    1. Sure more gun laws…Maryland has some of the toughest gun laws in the country, also it may help if the MoCo govt stops slashing the budgets of the police.

  8. People need to get their Wear and Carry Permits in Maryland. This is the only thing that will stop the shootings in Maryland. An armed society is a polite society!

  9. Montgomery Mall used to be a prominent mall back in the day. It’s sad that it’s attracting all of this crime. It sits in a pretty nice area in bethesda and close to potomac. This shouldn’t be happening there. The mall needs to step up security and hire police officers to patrol the area.

  10. I haven't seen a single officer patrolling the mall in the evening,. despite the new station.

  11. It’s not the people from Bethesda and Potomac causing the problems.

    1. Maybe they could check IDs at the door and only allow in people from Bethesda and Potomac.

  12. I am in the mall four or five times a week for lunch or dinner and I’ve never seen anyone in the police resource room, nor any indication that there’s ever been anyone in there.
