Save the date for the City of Rockville's annual Lunar New Year celebration this coming Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, at Rockville High School at 2100 Baltimore Road. Celebrate the good luck of the Year of the Dragon with live cultural performances, interactive displays, craft activities for kids, and to-go snack boxes (while supplies last). Admission is free. The event is co-sponsored by the Asian Pacific American Task Force.

ReplyDeleteHow odd that this event is not being celebrated in RTC. You'd think with all the Asian restaurants and retail stores in the area, this would be the central focal point, rather than out of the way in a high school parking lot.

This Saturday event is much more performance-focused so obviously they need an indoor space in the middle of February. Last year's was at Fitzgerald Theatre. It was packed so I imagine they're going with the larger RHS space this year for that reason.
