Home Depot to replace Golf Galaxy at Montrose Crossing

A Home Depot design center will fill the vacant Golf Galaxy space next to Barnes & Noble at the Montrose Crossing shopping center on Rockville Pike, according to property owner Federal Realty. B&N will depart the center for Federal Realty's Congressional Plaza property later this year.

Boardroom Salon for Men opening Rockville location

Men in the White Flint area will soon have another barbershop and grooming option. Boardroom Salon for Men will be opening a location at Montrose Crossing shopping center. The upscale barbershop has spread to 40 locations in 5 states since it began in Texas. At Montrose Crossing, it will fill the last vacant space in the property's newest Rockville Pike-facing structure between Slapfish and the AT&T Store.

In addition to haircuts and other salon services, you'll find complimentary beverages, chessboards, pool tables, televisions, dark wood paneling and plush leather chairs designed to create an upscale environment. Optional membership programs will give you unlimited haircuts at a discount rate over the life of the term you choose.

“Boardroom is a recognized leader and innovator in quality men’s grooming, with a mission to help men ‘relax, look great, and feel confident’ –they will fill a real niche for Rockville’s dense business and residential communities with their unique take on experiential service, adding to the convenience of Montrose Crossing as a shopping destination,” Federal Realty Director of Asset Management Kari Glinski said Monday.

Chase Bank coming to Montrose Crossing

A vacant bank was fenced off earlier this year at the Montrose Crossing shopping center in Rockville. Now the identity of the new bank is known. Chase Bank will be opening here in 2020. Construction is now underway to modify the bank to J.P. Morgan Chase specifications.

MOD Pizza Rockville opening date set

Last week, I showed you a preview of the interior of MOD Pizza at the Montrose Crossing shopping center on Rockville Pike. Now they have announced their opening date - next Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM. The first 50 people through the doors when they open will get free pizza.

There are a few more boxes and pallets to unpack at MOD Pizza at the Montrose Crossing shopping center on Rockville Pike, and the pizzeria should be ready to open. All decor, furniture, and light fixtures are in place. The patio out front is also set up.

Former Capital One bank fenced off at Montrose Crossing

The vacated Capital One bank branch at Montrose Crossing on Rockville Pike has been blocked off with construction fencing. Hopefully it is being replaced by a new restaurant, and not another bank.

Rockville Barnes & Noble hosting "Escaping Gilead" Handmaid's Tale event tonight at 7 PM

The Rockville Barnes & Noble will be hosting "Escaping Gilead," a discussion for fans of The Handmaid's Tale tonight, Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 7:00 PM at 12089 Rockville Pike, in the Montrose Crossing shopping center. According to the store's announcement, the discussion will cover both the book and television adaptation, and will also be an opportunity to meet other fans of the series. It's sure to be a popular draw in Montgomery County.

MOD Pizza sign installed at Montrose Crossing

The sign is up at MOD Pizza's newest Montgomery County location, opening soon at Montrose Crossing on Rockville Pike. Because of the placement of the restaurant in the parking lot, there's also a similar sign above the rear service entrance. There's still one prime space available for lease in this new building at the Federal Realty-owned shopping center.

MOD Pizza to open Rockville location

The new addition at the Montrose Crossing shopping center just inked its final tenant. Seattle-based MOD Pizza will take the last open space between Five Guys and the new AT&T Store facing Rockville Pike.

MOD already has a Silver Spring location, arriving in Montgomery County during that initial wave of "fast-fired" personal pizza chains a few years back. But it's a pretty strong addition in this spot, because it will be the only pizzeria at Montrose Crossing, and there isn't much fast casual pizza competition within walking distance besides &pizza at Pike & Rose.

Expect a thin crust due to the fast baking time in the 800 degree pizza oven, but also expect to pay one flat price for unlimited toppings of your choice, always a good deal. You can also get milkshakes at MOD, fairly unusual for a pizza joint. The chain is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

The AT&T Store looks close to finished at the Montrose Crossing shopping center on Rockville Pike at the Montrose Parkway. They are also currently hiring part-time employees. The storefront has a very slick and modern appearance.

Five Guys has moved over to its new home at the Montrose Crossing shopping center at 12029 Rockville Pike. The restaurant is now open in the new location, and has an outdoor dining area.
