Sprint store closes at Montgomery Mall, more signs of Eyebobs

Another retail closure in
Montgomery County
Not even the traitorous Verizon Guy could save Sprint from the moribund Montgomery County economy. The Sprint store at Westfield Montgomery Mall has permanently closed. Montgomery County has suffered a net loss of retail jobs since 2000, according to the Maryland Retailers Association.

In other mall news, future tenant Eyebobs has installed some Coming Soon signage at their space. Eyebobs aims to be the Warby Parker of the suburban mall.

  1. Idiot "chicken little" Dyer threatens the sky is falling yet again. Grow up junior, Sprint left because they SUCK and no one was buying their product. Geeez!

    1. Have you looked at the County's falling revenue and structural budget deficit? The fact that if the County's debt was a department, it would be the 3rd largest department in the County budget? And the fact that we're not even in a recession yet?

The sky is indeed falling. Only tools like you claim otherwise.

  2. Sprint merged with T-Mobile last year and they are closing Sprint stores nationwide.

Too bad Mr. Journalist can't be bothered to do even the most basic research on what he writes.

  3. Robert Dyer: "Montgomery County has suffered a net loss of more than 2,100 retail jobs since 2000, according to the Maryland Retailers Association."

Looks like Northern Virginia did in one year, what it took Montgomery County nearly 20 years to do.

    1. 9:37: We've been over this fake stat of yours before, Saul Alinsky.

Being "down" 1900 jobs or "losing" 1900 jobs is NOT a net loss. It's simply the number of jobs in the loss column. You must factor in the number of jobs CREATED in Northern Virginia during the same period, to calculate whether you had a NET loss, or a NET gain.

Northern Virginia most certainly enjoyed a net GAIN of retail jobs during that period, as they have far outpaced MoCo in jobs created, business starts, business growth rates, and every other relevant measure, EVERY YEAR for many years.

So MoCo suffered a NET LOSS, while NoVa has enjoyed a NET GAIN over the same decade/year/month/week/any period you want to measure.

      BOOM

    2. No, Dyer. The figure for Virginia from July 2017 through July 2018 is indeed a NET loss. Meaning that they lost 1,900 retail jobs than were created in that same period.

Where is your documentation otherwise? Why is it so hard for you to be objective about anything?

    3. 8:16: Nope - you have to put that 1900 up against the number of how many retail jobs were created in the same period to get the net number.

Everything is documented in my articles - that's why you're so frustrated and are paid to troll here.

    2. No, you just repeat your same tired talking points over and over again, without actually addressing your readers' questions.

    3. 7:48: Repetition is important, as I've learned from the Washington Post. I not only answer the questions, but I can back up my arguments with facts, instead of using totally fake statistics like the troll above.

    4. How many employees do you have at SNN?

  6. Repetition is not answering questions. It is just a pointless drone. You keep saying you can back up your points with data, but you NEVER do. Just publish all your data or at least get anybody at your network to do so.

Are you afraid to answer the question about revenue or staffing at SNN?

    1. Wrong! You stated that repetition was "just a pointless drone." Now I'm asking YOU to prove YOUR statement by labeling repetition by the reporters I mentioned as "just a pointless drone."

It's very relevant to this blog, because I adopt whatever tactics are used by the Communist fifth column Amazon Post.
