Rockville Baskin Robbins grand opening this Saturday, June 3

Rockville has been one Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor short since their Congressional Plaza location closed in late 2019. That is now remedied with the new Baskin Robbins store at 1079 Seven Locks Road. It will be celebrating with a grand opening event this Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 12:00 - 4:00 PM. There will be a DJ, prizes, giveaways, and - of course - 31 flavors. Mention this Facebook ad below to get $2 scoops during the event. Rockville Dunkin'/Baskin Robbins hosts grand opening Thursday w/ 99¢ ice cream scoops, giveaways

The new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins store at 16268 Frederick Road, on the border of Rockville and Gaithersburg, will hold its grand opening tomorrow, Thursday, August 4, 2022, starting at 9:00 AM. If you are one of the first 100 customers, you will win free coffee for a year.

All day on Thursday, guests will be invited to take advantage of a 99-cent Single Scoop Ice Cream offer. From 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, guests can win prizes from the Dunkin’ Prize Wheel, and enjoy on-site music and an appearance by Dunkin’ mascot Cuppy. At 10:00 AM, franchisee Frank Hennessey will host the store’s official ribbon cutting ceremony. Afterward, Hennessey, in partnership with the Joy in Childhood Foundation will present a $1,000 grant to Manna Food Center of Gaithersburg.

The new store is an example of the brand's Next Generation design. That includes an updated, modern interior designed to promote a sense of welcoming and positive energy, the Premium Pours tap and Nitro system, and a special area just for pick-up orders. Best of all, the new location includes a drive-thru!

Update on new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins in Rockville (Photos)

The drive-thru menu board has been installed at the future Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins at 16268 Frederick Road in Rockville. It is located on the Shady Grove Road side of the property. The existing Dunkin' Donuts at 16220 Frederick Road will relocate over here when it is completed. We now can see which Baskin Robbins items can be ordered at the drive-thru, a rare amenity for an ice cream shop.

The final hours of Baskin Robbins in Rockville

There were 31 flavors, but many less hours left in the life of Baskin Robbins at Congressional Plaza this past Sunday. The shop generously offered all ice cream at 50% off to customers on the final day of operation. Baskin Robbins - the chain - is directing customers here to their store at 7909 Tuckerman Lane in Potomac. I don't believe I've ever gone to that Baskin Robbins, so I'm interested to give it a try, since this one was the best in the county in my opinion. One scoop of Peanut Butter & Chocolate, and one scoop of Baseball Nut, for the final farewell. Another great business closes in moribund, razor-thin-profit-margin, high tax, high cost, high rent Montgomery County.

Baskin Robbins is closing at Congressional Plaza on Rockville Pike. The contents of the ice cream shop are scheduled to be auctioned off after the closure. This is sad news, as this was the best Baskin Robbins location in the county, in my opinion, since the old Bethesda one on Arlington Road closed many years ago. If you're a big 31 Flavors fan like me, you can even buy the entire counter display and recreate it in your basement recreation room. It's a puzzling closure, as there always seemed to be customers whenever I stopped in to buy something here.

NEW DUNKIN' DONUTS/BASKIN ROBBINS IN ROCKVILLE (PHOTO)

There's a new donut shop in town, and if that wasn't enough danger for your New Year's resolutions, it has a Baskin Robbins ice cream store in it, as well. The new store is located at 777 Hungerford Drive, next to 7-Eleven, and near the original Flagship Car Wash location. Another Dunkin' Donuts is opening in the College Plaza shopping center, as well.
