Armed robbery at Rockville home


Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a home in Rockville on October 31, 2024. The robbery was reported in the yard of a home in the 11900 block of Rocking Horse Road last Thursday at 12:20 PM. A firearm was the weapon employed in the robbery.

Unnecessary roughness as Rockville youth football game ends with assault


Football turned into a footbrawl in the King Farm area of Rockville on October 26, 2024, Rockville City police report. A youth football game was played in the 1800 block of Piccard Drive that afternoon. Near the end of the game at 3:00 PM, police say, a player on one team allegedly assaulted a 12-year-old boy on the opposing team. As this was a juvenile incident, no further information is likely to be released.

Sexual assault in Rockville apartment corridor


Rockville City police responded to a report of a sexual assault at an apartment complex on October 14, 2024. A resident of an apartment building in the 500 block of Hungerford Drive was moving items down a hallway at 9:05 AM, police say, when an unknown suspect suddenly groped her. The victim yelled, and the suspect ran away. Police have not provided a description of the suspect as of this writing.

Buy Buy Baby closing in Rockville


How many times will we have to say bye-bye to Buy Buy Baby? At least once more, according to signage posted at the Buy Buy Baby store at 1683 Rockville Pike at Congressional Plaza in Rockville. The company posted a message to customers stating that it is closing its physical stores in a "strategic reset" to focus on internet sales. It's a tough time to be in the baby business, as Americans just aren't having as many babies as they used to.

Assault at Rockville convenience store


Rockville City police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at a convenience store Tuesday night, October 29, 2024. The assault was reported at a store in the 200 block of Park Road, near the Rockville Metro station at 10:45 PM. An individual was accused of shoplifting in the same incident. The business has not yet been identified by police, but Metro Coffee Convenience is located on that block.

Pedestrian stabbed from behind in Rockville


UPDATE - 6:18 PM: Rockville City police have arrested Muhammad Ibrahim Adam, 28, of Rockville. Adam has been charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder, 1st-degree assault and reckless endangerment. 

Rockville City police are looking for a suspect who stabbed a pedestrian from behind "without provocation" on October 13, 2024. The male victim was walking in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike at 5:25 PM, police say, when he was suddenly stabbed in the rear side of his neck for no apparent reason. 

Police describe the suspect as a Black male of unspecified age, with a thin build. He was wearing a black coat and grey pants. If you have any information about this incident, or can identify the suspect, call police at 240-314-8900.
