Car stolen from Rockville apartment building

Rockville City police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at an apartment building near the Twinbrook Metro station on November 27, 2023. A Hyundai Sonata was stolen from the parking garage at The Terano apartments at 5720 Fishers Lane. The car is believed to have taken sometime between 7:45 AM and 6:00 PM. 

Hyundai Sonatas are among the most-stolen vehicles in America, due to the company's failure to install up-to-date anti-theft technology on several models. Hyundai has faced legal action by jurisdictions, and class-action lawsuits, over a theft rampage fueled by TikTok videos showing how easy it is to steal Hyundai vehicles.

Rockville purse snatcher uses key inside to steal car

A purse snatcher in Rockville managed to grab two handbags, and used the car key found inside one to add grand theft auto to their rapidly-growing rap sheet on September 15, 2023. Rockville City police say the suspect entered the rear door of a business in the 5700 block of Fishers Lane, and found purses belonging to two employees of the business on a table. Rifling through one, the suspect found a car key. The suspect used that key to steal that employee's car at 7:52 PM that evening. Rockville car thieves targeting residential parking lots

Car thieves in Rockville have been targeting vehicles parked in residential parking lots in recent days. Vehicles were reported stolen from lots in the 5100 block of Crossfield Court and on Grand Champion Drive in King Farm on July 30, 2023. The next day, Rockville City police were called after thieves broke windows and attempted to steal a Kia from a lot in the 200 block of Ridgemont Avenue, and a Hyundai SUV from a lot in the 800 block of Azalea Drive. Both of those attempts were unsuccessful. Thieves in Derwood have been prowling residential parking garages in new apartment buildings there recently, as well.

Car thieves prowling parking garages in Derwood

Another parking garage in Derwood was targeted by car thieves early yesterday morning, July 31, 2023. A vehicle was reported stolen to Montgomery County police overnight from a residential parking garage in the 8000 block of Gramercy Boulevard. Two cars were stolen from another Derwood apartment building's parking garage last Thursday, July 27. If you are living in a residential building in the Derwood area, make sure your vehicle is locked, and don't leave your keys in the ignition or glove compartment.

Car stolen from home in Derwood

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from a home in Derwood. The vehicle was parked along the street in the 7000 block of Horizon Terrace. Property was also stolen from another vehicle on that block. It is believed the car was stolen sometime between 9:30 PM on July 27, 2023, and 7:17 AM July 28.

Montgomery County police are investigating the thefts of two vehicles in Derwood early yesterday morning, July 27, 2023. The vehicles were taken from a residential parking garage in the 16000 block of Redland Road. It is believed that the vehicles were stolen sometime between 12:30 AM and 6:50 AM Thursday morning.

Armed robbery, auto theft, burglary at townhome in Rockville

Rockville City police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a townhome community in the Tower Oaks area of Rockville yesterday morning, July 27, 2023. One or more burglars gained entry to a townhome in the 1200 block of Treasure Oak Court, and committed an armed robbery with a weapon other than a firearm. A vehicle was reported stolen from the residence, as well. Police responded to the scene at 11:00 AM Thursday.

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from a Rockville apartment complex. The vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of a complex in the 13000 block of Twinbrook Parkway. It is believed the vehicle was taken sometime between 2:30 PM on Sunday, July 16, 2023, and 12:00 AM on Monday, July 17.

Two cars stolen in Derwood

Montgomery County police are investigating the thefts of two vehicles in the Derwood area yesterday, July 12, 2023. The first stolen vehicle was taken from a residential parking garage in the 15900 block of Frederick Road. It is believed the vehicle was stolen sometime between 12:00 AM and and 10:03 AM Wednesday. The second vehicle was reported stolen at 5:11 PM in a commercial parking lot in the 17500 block of Redland Road.

Rockville City police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at an apartment building Monday morning in the Rockville Town Center area. The vehicle was reported stolen at an apartment building in the 100 block of Monroe Street. It is believed the vehicle was stolen sometime between 6:30 PM Sunday night and 9:15 AM Monday morning.

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from an apartment complex in the Twinbrook area of Rockville. The vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of a complex in the 13100 block of Twinbrook Parkway. That appears to be the Halpine View apartments. It is believed the vehicle was stolen sometime between 10:00 PM on June 11 and 4:23 AM on June 12, 2023.

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from the parking garage of an apartment building in Rockville that was reported yesterday, June 4, 2023. The vehicle was parked in a residential garage in the 1800 block of Chapman Avenue. It is believed it was stolen sometime between 11:00 AM on Saturday and 8:00 AM yesterday.

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle in the Fallsgrove area of Rockville. The vehicle was taken from a residential parking lot in the 700 block of Fallsgrove Drive. It is believed the vehicle was stolen sometime between 8:00 PM Monday night, March 27, 2023, and 6:30 AM Tuesday morning, March 28.

Rockville City police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from an automobile dealership on Rockville Pike yesterday afternoon, March 11, 2023. The vehicle was taken from a dealership in the 800 block of Rockville Pike. There are two dealerships on that block: Ourisman Mazda and Ourisman Chevrolet. As thefts from dealerships have persisted recently, a security vehicle has been seen patrolling the Chevy dealership lot at night.

Rockville City police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from an apartment complex. The vehicle was reported stolen from the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Rockville Pike on March 4, 2023 at 11:27 AM. That appears to be at the Woodmont Park Apartments.

2 cars stolen on same street in Rockville

At least two vehicles were stolen on the same Rockville street Sunday night, February 19, 2023. Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of two vehicles on Braxfield Court, indicating a coordinated effort by multiple thieves in the Bethesda Park condo community. The vehicles were reported stolen at 7:00 PM and 7:50 PM, respectively. 

Car stolen in King Farm neighborhood of Rockville

Rockville City police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the King Farm community yesterday afternoon, January 25, 2023. The vehicle was parked outside of an apartment building in the 500 block of King Farm Boulevard. It is believed the car was stolen sometime between 6:00 PM Tuesday night and 3:53 PM Wednesday. Montgomery County police were called to an apartment complex in the Twinbrook area of Rockville Monday night, January 23, 2023, after a vehicle was reported stolen from the parking lot there. The vehicle was reported stolen from a lot in the 12800 block of Twinbrook Parkway at 8:00 PM. It is believed the vehicle was stolen sometime between 8:00 AM Monday morning and 8:00 PM.
