Construction on new Chinese restaurant Hulu Skewer House at 1488-B Rockville Pike has begun. Men were working inside and outside the space this weekend. A dumpster and some building materials have been delivered to the site, which was once home to the original Rockville Toys R Us. This is going to be a nice addition to the dining and grocery options at this retail center, which already include Yekta, Joe's Noodle House and the fantastic European Delight Russian grocery store.
I guess they have a short-term lease. Because that building will eventually be torn down and the site redeveloped as part of the project that is under construction now just north of Halpine Road and working its way north along the east side of Rockville Pike.
