Armed carjacking in King Farm area of Rockville

Just days after the suspect in an armed carjacking in broad daylight in Rockville was captured, another armed carjacking has been reported in the King Farm neigbhorhood of the city. This one took place in a residential parking lot in the 700 block of Elmcroft Boulevard at 10:47 PM Saturday night, according to crime data. Montgomery County police responded to this incident.

  1. I'm guessing that the defund the police movement is not very popular these days. Remember the rise in crime (and those who supported defund the police) when it's time to vote.

  2. Anonymous - I love how people spew rhetoric without fact checking. Montgomery Cty Police budget for 2022 is up 27 million from 2021. https://apps.montgomerycountymd.gov/basisoperating/Common/Department.aspx?ID=47D

  3. But you ignore the fact that in that same link they cut the budget in 2020 by nearly 30 million dollars.. and the same time carjacking and homicides went up around 80% (2020-2021). So their point was originally correct.
