    2. @9:31 - Wrong! You probably weren't even born yet.

  2. Take Philadelphia for an example, here are homicide rates starting in 1960 and continuing each year to the present. Crime today is much worse than the early 1960s. The early 1960s are more comparable to the 1950s, a much better time as far as having less crime.

    2. So now you agree that crime is much worse today than in the 1950s? 😆

    3. You need stop and frisk to get the illegal guns off the street like the police used to have the ability to do.

    5. If crime in Philadelphia was much lower in early 1960s than it is today, just imagine how low crime was in Montgomery County in early 1960s. I don't believe that crime was a problem anywhere in Montgomery County in the early 1960s,when compared to today.

  3. I've lived in Rockville for 70yrs. Blandford has always been sketchy. Even in the 1960s....

    1. Yes starting in mid 1960s and later 1960s, I believe crime crime was getting worse, but I'm talking about crime in 1950s through early 1960s. In 1950s there was not a crime problem like now.

    2. Try comparing apples to apples. The size and complexity of any suburban villages then is incomparable.

    3. The person above was stating that crime in Rockville 60 years ago was the same as today, which is absolutely not true. I wasn't able to find data on crime in Rockville in 1950s and 1960s, but I can guarantee you that people weren't being stabbed to death on Hungerford Dr and there also were no shootings of strangers like we've had at Rockville Town Center. Montgomery County in 1950s and early 1960s was a great place to live.

  4. Was this a random shooting or did the victim know the shooter?? I run in that area and don't want to get randomly shot by since everyone seems to own a gun now.
