Police respond after assault at Rockville grocery store


Montgomery County police were called to a grocery store in Rockville Saturday afternoon, March 2, 2024, after someone reported having been the victim of a 2nd-degree assault there. The assault was reported at a supermarket in the 12000 block of Rockville Pike at 4:34 PM Saturday. There is a Giant grocery store on that block of Rockville Pike.

Assault at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda


Montgomery County police responded to a report of an assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda late Friday morning, March 1, 2024. The assault was reported at the mall at 11:20 AM. At least one person was also accused of shoplifting in the incident. This is the second assault reported at the mall in 2024; the first in February also involved shoplifting from a business inside the mall. Another accused mall shoplifter allegedly was in possession of a synthetic narcotic a week before Friday's assault.

Assault at gas station in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at a gas station in the Twinbrook area of the city this past Thursday morning, February 29, 2024. The assault was reported at a station in the 2200 block of Veirs Mill Road at 9:15 AM Thursday. There is a Shell station on that block.

Bus driver assaulted by passenger in Rockville


Rockville City police responded to a report of an assault on a bus driver on the morning of February 23, 2024. According to police, a bus was stopped at the intersection of Rockville Pike and Wootton Parkway around 10:00 AM, when a passenger "became enraged." The passenger spat on the bus driver, and then repeatedly attempted to punch the driver. No description of the suspect was given by police.

Assault at Wootton High School in Rockville


Montgomery County police were called to the campus of Thomas S. Wootton High School at 2100 Wootton Parkway in Rockville this past Saturday morning, February 24, 2024, after someone reported being assaulted there. The assault was reported on an athletic field at the school at 9:10 AM Saturday.

Police called after assault at Rockville sporting goods store


Rockville City police responded to a report of unsportsmanlike conduct at a sporting goods store Friday morning, February 23, 2024. A 2nd-degree assault was reported at a store in the 1600 block of Rockville Pike at 10:51 AM. Dick's Warehouse Sale is located on that block. At least one person was also accused of shoplifting in the incident.

Second assault in 48 hours at Rockville Metro station


Rockville City police were called to the Rockville Metro station for the second time in 48 hours yesterday, February 23, 2024, after an individual reported having been assaulted there. The incident was reported at 10:00 AM Friday. The first assault, which involved a firearm, was reported at the station at 8:15 PM Wednesday night.

Suspects sought in assault and theft at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda


Montgomery County police are looking for three suspects in a February 5, 2024 assault and shoplifting incident at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The three entered Zara and grabbed merchandise, police say. On their way out of the fashion boutique at 12:22 PM, they allegedly assaulted a store employee. This is the second assault reported at the mall this year.

Police describe the suspects as a Black male around 40 years of age, a Black male aged 20-25, and a Black female aged 20-25. Assault at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda


Montgomery County police were called to Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda late Sunday afternoon, February 11, 2024, after someone reported being the victim of a 2nd-degree assault there. At least one individual was accused of shoplifting in the same incident. The assault was reported at 5:21 PM Sunday. Violent crime has been dropping at the mall over the last year. 12 assaults were reported at the popular retail center in 2022, 5 were reported in 2023, and Sunday's is the first reported in 2024.

Rockville City police were called to a government building Tuesday, February 6, 2024, after someone reported having been the victim of a 2nd-degree assault there. The assault was reported at a building in the 300 block of N. Washington Street at 12:12 PM Tuesday. That is in the Rockville Town Center area.

Man throws coffee, chair at employee at Rockville restaurant


A man who was asked to move aside by an employee cleaning at a Rockville restaurant allegedly reacted with violence, according to Rockville City police. The suspect responded to the request by hurling a chair and a cup of coffee at the employee, police said. Police were called to the restaurant in the 1300 block of Rockville Pike at 1:14 AM on January 23, 2024. There is a 24-hour McDonald's on that block.

Police described the suspect as a Black male of medium-build, 5'7" in height, with a beard and a light complexion. The suspect was last seen wearing a brown sweater.  If you can identify the suspect, or you witnessed the assault, you are asked to call police at 240-314-8900.

Rockville police searching for suspect in bus stop robbery


Rockville City police are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect in the January 26, 2024 strong-arm robbery at a bus stop. At 7:00 PM, the suspect approached a bus rider at a stop in the 700 block of Hungerford Drive (MD 355). "Mumbling incoherently," the suspect allegedly assaulted the bus rider, and took property from him. 

Police describe the suspect as a Black male between 30 and 40 years old, 5'3" in height, with a light complexion. He was wearing all-black clothing at the time of the robbery, and carrying duffel and book bags. Anyone with information about the suspect or this incident is asked to call police at 240-314-8900.

Assault at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville


Montgomery County police were called to the campus of Richard Montgomery High School late yesterday morning, January 19, 2024. At least one person reported having been the victim of an assault there. The school, which is located at 250 Richard Montgomery Drive, was closed yesterday due to the weather. Police responded to the scene at 11:39 AM Friday.

Police respond to assaults at 2 different Rockville office buildings


Rockville City police officers responded to 2nd-degree assaults reported at two different office buildings yesterday, January 16, 2024. Police were first called to a building in the unit block of Preserve Parkway at 10:00 AM Tuesday. A second assault was reported about three-and-a-half hours later, at an office building in the 15200 block of Shady Grove Road at 1:27 PM.

Rockville City police were summoned to a recreation facility in the Lincoln Park area Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2024, after someone reported being the victim of an assault there. The incident was reported to police at 4:28 PM Saturday, at a facility in the 1000 block of Westmore Avenue.

Police called after assault at Rockville rec center


Rockville City police were called to a recreation facility in an industrial area of the city late Sunday afternoon, January 7, 2024, after someone reported having been the victim of a 2nd-degree assault there. The assault was reported at a facility in the unit block of Southlawn Court at 5:51 PM Sunday. There are several athletic facilities on that block.
