Rockville construction update: Nada (Photos)

Construction is nearing completion at Nada, the new Mexican restaurant opening at Pike & Rose. Blade signs that face pedestrians walking along Grand Park and Rose Avenues have just been installed, as well. The restaurant is at the corner of both streets, in The Henri apartment building.

  1. Why do you keep saying that Pike & Rose is "in Rockville" on your Rockville blog, when your same articles re-posted on your Bethesda blog, correctly indicate that it is in Bethesda?

    1. 8:22: The U.S. Government and I agree - Pike & Rose is indeed in Rockville. Verify it with the USPS, if you don't believe me.

    2. So how come you say it's "in Bethesda", on your Bethesda blog? Are you saying that your caption there is wrong?

  2. Pike & Rose is not in Bethesda or Rockville; it is in the middle... a little closer to Rockville center then Bethesda center. Bethesda is not a city, and thus does not have distinct boundaries, so places like Pike and Rose say North Bethesda to try to link it to a trendier location. Businesses that are further south on 355 say they are in Rockville (Kuya Ja as one example), even though they are technically closer to Bethesda than Pike and Rose is. Perhaps it boils down to this: it doesn't matter and who cares.

  3. It's a blurred line. Randolph Hills homes aren't in the city of Rockville but have Rockville postal addresses. Some folks will claim to be North Bethesda in the neighborhood (certainly helps sell homes).
